Gavin is originally from Fort Myers, Florida. He moved here to pursue his now wife, Kendall. Gavin and Kendall have two sons; Asher and Colin. After years of misunderstanding the Gospel, believing that Christ gave him the possibility of becoming a good person rather than believing that Christ gave Gavin His Righteousness at the cross and we are called to walk in that gift of righteousness for His glory. After years of not understanding that he went to an Acts29 church in my hometown for the first time and heard a sermon on Matthew 7:21-23. It was through this scripture and the preaching of it that Gavin’s heart of stone became a heart of flesh. After moving back to Tallahassee, he was discipled at a really great church that stood on the gospel as well. When Kendall and Gavin decided to move to Nashville and start looking for churches, he prayed that they would find an Acts29 Church that preached the same Gospel. Their prayers were answered when they visited the Axis Church on a Sunday when Pastor Jeremy let them through a sermon series on the Old Testament. He preached through Christ being the greater David, they knew they found our home. They started visiting in 2015 and haven't looked back! Gavin has a BA in History from FSU, and is currently enrolled at Reformed Theological Seminary. His favorite restaurant is his grill on the back porch!
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.”
